François von Kaenel - Midata

François von Kaenel

François von Kaenel heads application development. He is a research associate at the Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH. At the Institute for Medical Informatics I4MI of BFH he is involved in numerous research projects, especially in the field of patient-reported outcome (PRO) based on the MIDATA platform.
François von Kaenel holds a degree in electrical engineering from the École d'Ingénieurs du Canton de Neuchâtel in Le Locle. Many years of experience in development and product management for manufacturers of hospital information systems (HIS). Experience in database design and tuning, data modeling and semantic interoperability (HL7 FHIR).

Nathalie Klauser - Midata

Nathalie Klauser

Nathalie Klauser actively develops and leads socio-political initiatives around innovation and digital transformation as Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Intersections. She fosters smart, participatory and radical ideas for municipalities as Co-CEO in the national program Innobooster “Swiss Smart Cities” and engages politically as a board member at CH++ and economically as co-president of SmartCity Alliance for a more inclusive and citizen centric digitalization.
Nathalie Klauser holds a master’s degree in Communication and Political Science from the University of Zurich. She gained experience in the field of digitalization in building up an enduring startup in online marketing and through her work with blockchain consortia at the computational social science chair at ETH Zurich. At the chair of climate research at the University of Zurich, she engaged civilians digitally in citizen science projects. As deputy managing director in the foundation Risiko-Dialog she has built up a digital chapter by co-developing the representative population survey „Digitalbarometer“ and spinning specific action projects out of it.

Andrea Büchler - Midata

Andrea Büchler

Prof. Dr. iur. Andrea Büchler holds the chair of private and comparative law at the University of Zurich. Her areas of research are inter alia family law, medicine and law, law of persons, comparative law and Islamic and Middle Eastern law.
Since 2016, she has been the President of the National Advisory Committee on Biomedical Ethics (NEK). In 2003, she co-founded the Centre for Family Sciences, a Switzerland-wide association that initiates, conducts, and supports high-quality research in the field of family. Prof. Dr. iur. Andrea Büchler was awarded a fellowship at the Institute of Advanced Studies, Berlin, for the academic year 2008/2009 and a fellowship at The Straus Institute for the Advanced Study in Law and Social Justice at NYU, New York, for the academic year 2011/2012. She was a Visiting Professor at the University of Vienna, University of California Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, and is a Fellow at the Collegium Helveticum, ETH/University of Zurich. She earned her MA, PhD, and venia docendi in Private Law, Comparative Law, and Gender Law between 1990 and 2002 at the University of Basel, Switzerland.
